About the Role

MAHE invites applications for the Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position for a Department of Health Research (DHR) funded project.

Project Title: Engineering Flavonoid Functionalized ROS-independent Inherently Antibacterial Titanium Bio-interfaces for Tendon Associated Orthopaedic Implant

Location: Manipal Institute of Regenerative Medicine (MIRM), Bengaluru

Duration: One Year (Extendable on performance/need basis)

Remuneration: Consolidated Pay: Rs. 37,000 including HRA per month

Qualifications

• M.Sc./M.Tech./M.E. or equivalent postgraduate degree in:
• Biotechnology
• Biomedical Engineering
• Materials Science and Engineering
• Nanotechnology
• Biomaterials
• Tissue Engineering
• Regenerative Medicine
• Materials Chemistry
• Allied disciplines
• Minimum of 60% marks or equivalent CGPA, as per applicable funding agency and institutional norms.

Preferred Qualifications

• Research experience in biomaterial functionalization
• Research experience in surface engineering
• Research experience in nanomaterials
• Research experience in antibacterial materials
• Research experience in orthopaedic implant development

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in material synthesis and characterization
• Experience in surface modification
• Experience in antimicrobial assays
• Experience in mammalian cell culture
• Experience in biocompatibility evaluation
