Workers Compensation Claims Associate

About the Role

CitiMed is seeking a detail-oriented team member to manage workers' compensation claims from start to finish. This role involves reviewing claims, coordinating with medical providers and adjusters, and facilitating timely resolutions. You will receive hands-on training in New York workers' comp processes and develop skills in claims handling, medical billing, and case management.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of a caseload of claims, starting with straightforward files.
• Review case details.
• Coordinate with claim adjusters.
• Track paperwork and deadlines accurately.
• Learn to read and respond to official rulings.
• Maintain up-to-date case notes and spreadsheets.
• Follow up consistently to ensure no tasks are missed.
• Collaborate with the billing department to resolve outstanding claims.
• Work with the verification team to flag changes to cases.
• Escalate issues to your supervisor for support.
• Utilize phone and email communication for follow-ups.
• Develop familiarity with standard forms and rules in New York's workers' comp system.
• Achieve a steady daily caseload after training.

Qualifications

• Some exposure to workers' compensation, billing, or insurance claims is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
• Organized and detail-oriented.
• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
• Clear written and verbal communicator.
• Ability to work independently and stay productive under deadlines.
• Basic understanding of confidentiality/privacy practices (HIPAA) is helpful, or willingness to learn.
