About the Role

L&T EduTech is seeking a motivated and technically skilled Engineer Trainee to join the Platform Development Team in Chennai. This role involves contributing to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications and digital platforms, working closely with experienced developers and cross-functional teams to build scalable, reliable, and user-friendly technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining web applications and platform solutions.
• Developing and enhancing frontend components using React, Angular, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Supporting backend development using Node.js, Express.js, and related technologies.
• Assisting in building and integrating RESTful APIs and GraphQL APIs.
• Working with databases such as MongoDB and MySQL for data management and application development.
• Supporting third-party API integrations and the enhancement of existing platform functionalities.
• Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving application issues to improve performance and reliability.
• Participating in code reviews, testing, debugging, and documentation activities.
• Collaborating with product owners, QA teams, and fellow developers to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Following coding standards, version control practices, and software development best practices.
• Contributing to Agile/Scrum activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Exploring emerging technologies, including AI and LLM-based applications, to support future platform enhancements.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of frontend frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Working knowledge of Node.js and backend application development.
• Understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, and third-party integrations.
• Basic knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB.
• Familiarity with Git, software testing, debugging, and application development practices.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• B.E. or B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience; motivated, technically skilled freshers and early-career engineers encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Python and frameworks such as FastAPI.
• Basic understanding of AI/LLM applications, RAG, and semantic search.
• Familiarity with Docker, AWS or Azure, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Attention to detail, commitment to quality, and a proactive approach to learning and innovation.
