About the Role
As a Field Auto Damage Trainee, you’ll provide reassurance and solutions that make a difference in our customers' lives when they need us the most after an accident. This is not a remote role; you will be required to work in the territory listed on the job posting.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and assess vehicle damage.
- Estimate vehicle repair costs.
- Negotiate equitable settlements.
- Partner with body shops, rental companies, and parts providers.
- Consult with involved parties.
- Review insurance contracts.
- Manage rental cars.
- Resolve customer concerns, ensuring a positive experience.
- Drive customer satisfaction through meaningful interactions.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Valid driver’s license that meets company underwriting guidelines.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Customer-facing experience preferred.
- Experience in high-volume call centers with KPIs and measurable goals preferred.
- Active Adjusters license preferred.
- College degree preferred.

Training & Development
- GEICO’s industry-leading paid trainee program includes 3 weeks of required hands-on experience at our Ashburn, VA training facility.
- 2 weeks in a field training center (NY, TX, CA), with mentors.

Field Territory
- GEICO Fleet vehicle assigned and responsible for the San Mateo, CA area.
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting pay rate varies based upon position and location.

Additional Information
- Annual Salary Range: $32.05 - $50.36.
