- Schedule: Part-time, 24 hours per week
- Location: In person in the Detroit metropolitan area
- Start date: As soon as mutually agreed
Key Responsibilities

- Availability to work 24 hours per week in person in metro Detroit.
- Prior professional software engineering experience is not required.
Applied AI and Coding Agent Experience (Strongly Preferred)
- Experience building an AI-powered application or workflow, such as integrating an LLM API, connecting a model to tools or data, or automating a practical task.
- Experience using coding agents to plan and implement changes, navigate a codebase, investigate bugs, and write tests.
- Ability to review and explain agent-generated code, validate its behavior, and fix mistakes rather than accept output without checking it.
- An understanding of how to evaluate AI outputs and handle unreliable results, sensitive data, and API credentials responsibly.
Qualifications
- Class projects, personal projects, open-source contributions, and internship experience all count.
- Wayne State students and other local candidates are encouraged to apply.
To apply, please submit your resume and, if available, a GitHub profile, portfolio, or demo. Highlight an applied AI project or coding-agent workflow you have used: explain what you built, which tools you used, your own contribution, and how you verified the results.
