2026 Mobile Software Engineer Technical Intern

About the Role

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is seeking Mobile Software Engineer interns to collaborate with experienced mobile developers on current Church applications for mobile devices. This internship offers an opportunity to work with Apple and Google technologies within a large information technology center.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist seasoned mobile developers on current Church software on mobile devices.
• Perform specific development tasks in Kotlin (Android) or Swift (iOS).
• Conduct unit testing.
• Debug and correct defects in code.
• Attend meetings with project team members and customers.
• Report on current activities.
• Work with databases and issue tracking systems.
• Participate in individual and paired programming assignments.
• Develop mobile software development and engineering skills.
• Work with state-of-the-art tools to help develop global solutions.
• Work on production-level projects and solve problems.
• Gain practical experience.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Kotlin and Jetpack Compose (for Android development)
• Swift and SwiftUI (for iOS development)
• Mobile Frameworks
• Databases
• Issue tracking systems

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in or within one year of graduation from an accredited college or university.
• Working toward a degree in engineering, computer science, or information technology.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting confidently and providing information within a team environment, almost always virtually.
• Familiarity with engineering/programming, analytical/diagnostic/troubleshooting, mobile technology, and programming methodology.
• Basic understanding of systems and subsystems.
• Ability to work independently in a team environment.
• Ability to multi-task and deliver according to customer-driven requirements.
• Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict resolution skills.
• Self-motivated with good time management skills.
• You will be asked to demonstrate coding experience in the interview (preferred languages are Kotlin or Swift).
