Junior Prep Artist

About the Role

People Media Factory is looking for a Junior Prep Artist to create accurate mattes and clean plates that support high-quality compositing work. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create clean roto mattes for characters, objects, and effects.
• Handle challenging details such as hair, motion blur, transparency, and fine edges.
• Assist with paint-outs, wire and rig removal, marker cleanup, dust removal, and scratch removal.
• Use tracking and stabilization when required.
• Follow project naming, folder, format, and delivery standards.
• Apply feedback from leads and supervisors.
• Communicate progress and production issues clearly.
• Complete assigned shots within deadlines while maintaining quality.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Working knowledge of Nuke, Silhouette, Mocha Pro, or After Effects.
• Basic understanding of mattes, alpha channels, edges, and compositing.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Showreel or portfolio demonstrating roto and cleanup work.

Good to Have

• Familiarity with ShotGrid, ftrack, or similar production-tracking tools.
• Basic Python or Nuke scripting knowledge.
• Exposure to AI-assisted roto or segmentation tools.
