About the Role

The Travelers Claim Intern program offers qualified candidates an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand business experience, receive valuable on-the-job training, contact clients, determine coverage, scope losses, and complete damage estimates. This program is ideal for applicants interested in entering the insurance industry and making Claim their future career choice.

What Will You Do?

• Structured onboarding to Travelers systems and protocols.
• Exposure to Personal and Business Insurance claims of basic to moderate complexity.
• Learn and understand effective strategies for investigating, negotiating, and resolving claims thoroughly, accurately, and efficiently.
• Develop knowledge of what happened, estimating damage, determining applicable coverages, and assisting customers through the process using strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Observe the work of the Claim Professional through desk-based work and "ride-alongs" with experienced employees.
• Work with a designated manager/mentor to develop claims knowledge through core assignments.
• Develop a strong foundation of customer service, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Complete challenging and meaningful project work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Obtained or pursuing a Bachelor's degree.

Qualifications

• Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Suggested college majors include Business Administration, Liberal Arts (with business focus preferred), Business Management, Risk Management and Insurance, or a business-related discipline.
