Graduate Solar PV Design Engineer

About the Role

Energywise Ireland is seeking a Graduate Solar PV Design Engineer for a fully remote position. This role involves developing precise technical drawings for solar PV systems and contributing to the company's mission of improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon footprints.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver precise technical drawings for solar PV systems, including rooftop, ground-mounted, and commercial installations, with a key focus on domestic properties.
• Interpret data from site surveys and translate it into accurate design plans.
• Prepare drawings, bill of materials (BOM), wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for projects.
• Ensure designs comply with Irish and EU standards, building regulations, and grid connection requirements.
• Work closely with the sales team, project managers, and installation teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Stay updated on the latest design software, tools, and industry trends to enhance project quality and efficiency.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Previous experience in design engineering is desirable.
• Previous experience with design software such as AutoCAD.
• Prior experience using Solar PV designing tools such as Helioscope, PVSyst, PVSol, HOMER, etc. is desired.
• Ability to produce accurate and detailed technical documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and adapt to varying project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
