Simulation & Hardware Intern
ET Robotics
Job Title: Simulation & Hardware Intern
About the Role
- Duration: 6 months
What You'll Work On
- Build and improve custom simulation environments for robots to interact.
- Turn CAD models into simulation-ready models (meshes, collision geometry, mass and inertia, joints).
- Design and 3D print parts for the robot and test rigs: sensor mounts, hand and tool fixtures, test objects, calibration targets.
- Use FEM methods to set realistic material and contact values in simulation.
- Help integrate simulation with ROS 2 and bridge the sim-to-real gap for robot tasks.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
- Working knowledge of FEM software (ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar)
- Basic ROS 2 knowledge
- Hardware development and real-world deployment.
Desirable
- Hands-on 3D printing, including designing for printing.
- MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, or Gazebo experience; URDF/MJCF.
- Understanding of rigid-body dynamics and contact modelling.
Qualifications
- Final-year undergraduate or fresh graduate (within 1 year).
