About the Role

The Evergreen - Product Design New Grad role at Databricks is designed for individuals graduating in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027. As an Associate Product Designer, you will join a team focused on understanding and solving customer challenges within the Databricks platform. You will gain experience as a product designer at a high-growth enterprise technology company at the intersection of data and AI. As part of the 2027 APD cohort, you will have a dedicated manager and mentor, and collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, account teams, and leaders.

Key Responsibilities

• Work with a cross-functional team to build features for the Databricks platform.
• Manage projects end-to-end, from discovery and ideation through final design prototype for engineering implementation.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to ship features on the Databricks platform.
• Conduct research with customers to understand their needs and improve design.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tooling in your design process without sacrificing craft.
• Use of good judgment in visual hierarchy, layout, and information architecture to inform design work.
• First-hand experience with SQL and/or Python.
• Hands-on approach: happy to build, test, and iterate to find solutions.
• Use of analytical skills for data-driven decisions (e.g., analyzing product usage, conducting user experience research).
• Ability to simplify complex topics and communicate design perspectives to partners (engineers, customers, field) in both written and verbal forms.
• Excitement to solve ambiguous problems with a collaborative team.
• Curiosity and continuous learning, whether it's new technology, customer domains, or product areas.

Qualifications

• Graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a bachelors or masters degree in HCI or a related design practice.
