Humanoid Robotics AI Internship

About the Role

We are hiring Robotics AI Interns for a fully remote position. We are building DEV 0.0, a humanoid robot that will be brought up entirely in simulation before any hardware exists. The robot is designed to reason in language, perceive its surroundings, map and navigate a space, and act, always behind a safety layer. The code you write will be the product. We are looking for a small number of capable, self-directed individuals to own a specific part of this system. You will build upon existing open-source robotics foundations; the work's success is measured by whether it actually runs.

WHO WE WANT

• You can take an open-source robotics or AI component and get it running independently using its documentation.
• You write code that works and can demonstrate its functionality (e.g., output, a short clip, a reproducible run), not just claim it.
• You are honest about your accomplishments, limitations, and the results of your work.
• You maintain a steady, consistent pace without requiring constant supervision.
• You prioritize doing the work properly; careless or copied work is considered less valuable than slow work.

THE TRACKS (You will own one)

• Simulation & embodiment: Get the humanoid standing, then walking.
• Perception & sensing: Convert camera and depth data into spatial awareness.
• Mapping & navigation: Build a map and navigate to a goal without collisions.
• Control & behaviour: Translate intent into motion.
• Safe control & grounding: Implement the safety layer that approves every action.
• Voice & command: Process language input to generate exactly one allowed action.
• Embedded & hardware I/O: Develop the firmware layer for future hardware integration.

HOW IT WORKS

• Submit your work, which can be a GitHub profile, a resume, or a brief description of your projects. Links to working projects are valued more than lists of skills.
• A short warm-up task will be provided, focusing on a small, self-contained exercise relevant to your chosen track, to be completed in a private repository.
• Successful completion of the warm-up task will lead to a confirmed seat and access to the team. Progress is based on steady, consistent work, not fixed deadlines.
• You will sign a mutual NDA + IP agreement before gaining private access to protect both your work and ours.
