Healthcare Data Analyst, Entry Level

About the Internship

Medinex Workforce engages with hospitals, diagnostic labs, and clinics, organizations that generate substantial data on patient visits, test volumes, billing records, and turnaround times. This internship offers a role within the team responsible for analyzing this data to create clear reports identifying operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities. All work will be conducted on anonymized or approved data.

What You Will Do

• Clean and organize healthcare datasets (e.g., visit records, billing data, lab data, pharmacy data).
• Write SQL queries to extract specific data for reports.
• Build dashboards and reports using Excel, Power BI, or Looker Studio.
• Track trends in case volumes, costs, turnaround times, and operational performance.
• Verify data for errors, duplicates, and missing values prior to reporting.
• Work exclusively with anonymized or approved data, adhering to data privacy practices.
• Write concise summaries of findings for non-technical teams.
• Participate in daily check-ins and weekly reviews to share progress.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Good working knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts).
• Basic SQL (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, filters).
• Analytical thinking and close attention to detail.
• Respect for data confidentiality and professional ethics.
• A laptop and stable internet connection for full-time remote work.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Python.
• Understanding of medical terms or healthcare processes.
• A portfolio showcasing a dashboard or analysis project.

Qualifications

• Final-year students and recent graduates from B.Pharm, D.Pharm, Pharm.D, B.Sc or M.Sc (Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Statistics), BHM, MHA, B.Tech, BCA, MCA, BBA, or related fields.
• Self-taught learners who can present a project or certificate.
• Freshers are welcome; prior experience is not required.
• Full-time availability for the internship duration.
