Grids and Gravity LLP is a young, fast-growing structural engineering firm providing structural design and drafting services to engineers and contractors in the United States. They work on residential and commercial projects in steel, wood, and concrete, delivering Construction Documents (CD) and Issued for Construction (IFC) drawing sets that meet US codes and project requirements.

Role Overview

A full-time Structural Engineer position for a hybrid role in Pune, with some work-from-home flexibility. This is a training-focused role for individuals with a sound civil/structural foundation and a strong willingness to learn US design practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and calculations for residential and commercial buildings.
• Assist in designing steel, wood, and concrete structural systems under senior engineer guidance.
• Model structures in RISA and verify results.
• Prepare and update structural drawings and models in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Produce CD and IFC drawing sets, including plans, framing layouts, sections, and details.
• Check drawings and calculations for accuracy against project requirements and US standards.
• Coordinate with US engineers, architects, and internal teams, and respond to review comments and revisions.
• Maintain organized technical documentation and project files.
• Learn and follow company QA/QC and drafting standards.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s is a plus).
• Solid fundamentals in structural analysis, mechanics of materials, and design of steel, concrete, and timber structures.
• Basic familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and RISA (academic or project exposure is fine).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and spoken English for working with US clients.
• Attention to detail, and a willingness to take feedback and learn quickly.

Preferred (Not Mandatory)

• Internship or 0-2 years of experience in structural design or drafting.
• Awareness of US codes and standards such as IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, and NDS.
• Exposure to BIM workflows.
• Experience working in hybrid or remote teams.
