Banking Operations Graduate

About the Role

Our client, a leading international corporate and investment bank, is seeking a motivated Graduate Analyst to join its Trade Finance Operations team in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to develop a strong foundation in trade finance, supporting the operational processing of international trade transactions and working closely with internal teams and external clients to ensure transactions are completed accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the processing and administration of trade finance transactions, including letters of credit, guarantees and documentary collections.
• Review trade documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal procedures.
• Assist with transaction settlements, payment processing and the resolution of operational discrepancies.
• Liaise with internal teams, clients and external banking partners to resolve queries and ensure timely transaction processing.
• Monitor transaction statuses, maintain accurate records and update internal systems.
• Support compliance with relevant policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Identify and escalate operational issues, discrepancies and potential risks.
• Contribute to process improvements and help maintain efficient day-to-day operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
• A strong interest in international trade, banking and financial services.
• Previous internship or experience in banking, trade finance or financial operations is advantageous but not essential.
