Data Center Technician, Data Center Operations

About the Role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Infrastructure Services is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We are looking for a Data Center Technician to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, including servers, storage, and networking devices on a 24/7 basis.
• Maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
• Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies.
• Share knowledge and help train less technical staff on best practices.
• Contribute to the Amazon hiring process by participating in candidate interviews.
• Perform installation and configurations on Data Center Servers and Network systems.
• Perform installation, troubleshooting, and replacement of internal and external hardware parts of Servers and Network devices.
• Work within a ticket-based environment and perform systematic problem resolution.
• Work on a rotational shift-based schedule.
• Collaborate with internal teams to share ideas and contribute to innovative projects.
• This is a physically active role requiring movement onsite.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution.
• Operating efficiently under pressure.
• Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
• Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
• Ability to work in cramped spaces or in elevated locations while adhering to health & safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
