Pharmacy Intern

About the Role

This is a casual/PRN position in outpatient/retail pharmacy locations in Ontario and Crestline, Ohio. Interns are eligible to work full or part-time during summer and holiday breaks, as well as intermittent weekend days throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret physician prescriptions and medication orders.
• Act as a drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff, and ancillary department personnel.
• Review patient profiles for drug interactions.
• Perform clinical interventions including dosage recommendations.
• Administer immunizations.
• Perform technical and clerical functions associated with the ordering, packaging, control, distribution, and billing of medications.
• Perform quality assurance functions.
• Prepare and dispense prescribed medications and other pharmaceuticals for patient care.
• Work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in compliance with state and federal laws, established procedures, and accreditation standards.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Currently enrolled in an accredited pharmacy program at a college or university.
• Licensed as a Pharmacy Intern in good standing with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy.
