About the Role

FDEConsulting is a technology consulting firm focused on deploying engineers directly to client sites to solve complex, real-world problems. The forward-deployed engineer (FDE) role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. In this role, the engineer works closely with client teams to understand business requirements, translate them into technical solutions, and implement robust software systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and developing back-end services.
• Writing clean and maintainable code.
• Reviewing existing systems.
• Contributing to system architecture decisions.
• Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Troubleshooting production issues.
• Providing technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Documenting technical approaches.
• Participating in code reviews.
• Continuously improving processes and tools to enhance delivery quality.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Software Development and Programming using modern languages and frameworks.
• Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side architectures.
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Version control systems.
• Testing practices.
• Deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science and core software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience in Software Development.
• Proficiency in Back-End Web Development.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work on-site with client teams in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
