Position Summary

Future Interns is seeking a Cybersecurity Intern to assist with authorized security-related assignments. This role is ideal for students and recent graduates with foundational cybersecurity knowledge and an interest in vulnerability assessment, network security, security documentation, and defensive security practices. All security activities must be performed only on authorized systems and environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with vulnerability assessment activities on authorized environments.
• Support basic security testing under appropriate guidance.
• Review assigned systems or configurations for potential security concerns.
• Use tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, or Burp Suite when relevant to assigned work.
• Record observations and organize assessment findings.
• Assist in preparing technical security documentation.
• Research common vulnerabilities and relevant defensive practices.
• Support assigned security monitoring or review activities.
• Communicate findings and questions clearly to the project team.
• Follow applicable security, privacy, and access-control requirements.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals.
• Familiarity with networking concepts.
• Understanding of common information-security risks.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to document technical observations clearly.
• Responsible handling of assigned information and systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Linux.
• Exposure to Nmap, Wireshark, Burp Suite, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of OWASP concepts.
• Cybersecurity coursework or personal projects.
• Familiarity with basic security reporting.
