About the Role
SpartanNash is a food solutions company that delivers the ingredients for a better life. This Winter 2027 Internship is for the Financial Services department, which provides accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and income tax services. The Tax Season Intern will assist the team during the year-end tax filing season.
- Location: 7610 Clyde Park Ave - Byron Center, Michigan 49315
- Internship Duration: January 20th through April 17th
- Type: On-site role
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare Michigan Personal Property Tax Returns
- Prepare Federal and State business income tax returns (partnership, corporate, S corporation)
- Prepare Federal and State individual income tax returns
- Prepare quarterly Federal and State estimated tax payments
- Assist with tax planning and research
- Prepare client memorandums
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Knowledge of MS Office products
Qualifications
- High School Diploma (Required) or equivalent (GED)
- Accounting Major working towards a B.A/B.S degree
- A minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment with a high degree of initiative, poise, and confidentiality
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational, prioritization, and detail-oriented skills
- Ability to take initiatives and seek opportunities to learn in a fast-paced environment
