Electrician

About the Role

This is a full-time Electrician role in a hybrid work arrangement, based in the Greater Kolkata Area. The Electrician will handle day-to-day installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and machinery within the steel plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspecting electrical components.
• Performing routine preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshooting faults and restoring equipment to safe operating conditions.
• Working with panels, motors, wiring, and control systems.
• Reading technical drawings.
• Following standard operating procedures.
• Coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams.
• Complying with all safety standards.
• Maintaining accurate records of work performed.
• Supporting continuous improvement of plant reliability and performance.
• Some work-from-home tasks possible for documentation and planning activities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong foundational knowledge in electricity and practical electrical work for industrial environments.
• Skills in maintenance & repair of electrical systems, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Troubleshooting skills to diagnose electrical faults and implement safe, effective solutions.
• Understanding of electrical engineering principles relevant to industrial power distribution and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
• Ability to use standard electrical tools and test instruments.
• Ability to document work accurately.
• Strong attention to safety.
• Willingness to work in shifts.
• Capability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification (ITI, diploma, or equivalent) in Electrical or a related discipline is preferred.
• Experience in heavy industry, manufacturing, or utility operations is beneficial.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and lockout/tagout procedures is beneficial.
