About the Role

As a Business Analyst, you will bridge the gap between business users and software teams. You will learn how the company’s data, platform, and related systems work, then translate business needs into clear requirements and functional specifications. You will also help manage requests, documentation, and delivery schedules using tools such as JIRA. This position is suited to an early-career professional with strong analytical skills and an interest in data and product development. You will contribute throughout the product lifecycle, from researching challenges and defining requirements to coordinating development and supporting quality assurance. Priorities can evolve quickly, so adaptability, clear communication, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach are important.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build subject matter expertise in the company’s data, platform features, and dependencies on other systems.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for project teams and customers by explaining existing features and supporting their effective use.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business needs; translate requirements into feature specifications and supporting documentation.
  • Support data collection, preparation, and validation for project teams and customers.
  • Partner with customers, Product Managers, Engineers, and project teams to investigate and resolve process or product issues.
  • Research business, process, and product challenges, analyze relevant information, and recommend practical solutions.
  • Analyze data to clarify needs and track progress against objectives and key results (OKRs).
  • Support feature development by reviewing work with Engineers and helping ensure alignment with approved specifications.
  • Test new and updated features and collaborate with QA Engineers on test strategies, planning, and test case execution.
  • Use tools such as JIRA to organize requests and requirements, coordinate delivery schedules, and communicate progress across teams.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Knowledge of SQL, relational databases, cloud data platforms, or ETL tools.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365; experience with JIRA and Confluence is an advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a STEM discipline, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Zero to two years of experience as a Data Analyst or in a product support role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain requirements clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders, understand their needs, and help identify acceptable solutions.
  • Effective multitasking and time-management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing requests.
  • A willingness to learn, adapt, take ownership, and contribute positively in a collaborative environment.
