About the Role
Serco is seeking a motivated Junior Software Engineer – Java with AI Skills to support a Department of Defense (DoD) program. In this role, you will collaborate with the technical lead and development team to maintain and enhance Java applications running in cloud environments, troubleshoot technical issues, and contribute to software modernization initiatives. You will strengthen your Java development skills while gaining experience with Python, APEX, and AI-assisted development tools. This position offers an opportunity to build your software engineering expertise while contributing to technology solutions supporting a DoD program.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and enhance existing Java applications in cloud environments.
- Collaborate with the technical lead and development team on software development and maintenance activities.
- Troubleshoot application issues and support technical problem resolution.
- Contribute to software modernization efforts and application improvements.
- Develop familiarity with Python and APEX technologies.
- Learn and apply AI-assisted development tools to support software engineering tasks.
- Support program-related technical activities and reviews as required.
