Trainee

About the Role

The Detailer–Trainee is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. This role involves learning and applying structural steel detailing principles under the guidance of experienced detailers.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn and apply structural steel detailing principles.
• Interpret engineering drawings.
• Prepare 2D and 3D models.
• Generate shop and erection drawings.
• Assist in checking dimensions, connections, and material specifications.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with project standards.
• Coordinate with senior team members.
• Update project documentation.
• Use detailing software tools as part of an integrated project workflow.
• Maintain organized files.
• Meet project timelines.
• Support quality control efforts as technical skills develop.

Qualifications

• BE or Diploma in Mechanical or Civil engineering.
• Strong technical aptitude.
• Ability to understand engineering and structural drawings.
• Understanding of basic steel structures and construction terminology.
• Familiarity with CAD or 3D modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar) and willingness to learn specialized steel detailing software.
• Attention to detail.
• Accuracy in measurements and documentation.
• Systematic approach to problem-solving.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with engineers, senior detailers, and project coordinators.
