Associate Application Developer, Oracle

About the Role

This role is within an IBM Consulting FutureNow Center, focused on delivering deep technical and industry expertise to clients. You will help solve real-world business challenges through technology, innovation, and consulting. This position offers hands-on experience on real client projects, professional and technical mentorship, career coaching, and access to certification opportunities. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is integrated into how solutions are delivered, development is accelerated, data is analyzed, business processes are automated, and complex challenges are solved. You will also develop consulting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Associate Application Developer, you will help organizations transform how they serve customers, improve operations, and accelerate digital innovation through modern applications and cloud technologies. Projects can span various industries, including healthcare, financial services, public sector, federal sector, automotive, energy, retail, industrial, or manufacturing. You will gain hands-on project experience, mentorship, career coaching, industry-recognized certifications, and exposure to emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and automation.

You will be aligned to a technology practice based on business needs, your background, technical skills, project experience, and career interests. Many associates join with a broad computer science or software engineering foundation, without prior experience in specific platforms. Through structured learning, mentorship, certifications, and client projects, you will build specialized expertise and develop consulting, communication, and technical skills.

Within the Oracle practice, you will help organizations modernize and optimize enterprise business processes through Oracle applications supporting finance, supply chain, human resources, procurement, enterprise performance, and digital transformation.

We are looking for individuals with potential, curiosity, and a passion for learning. Prior experience in specific technologies is not required. Contributions through coursework, hackathons, internships, or personal projects are valued.

During your first year, you will build technical expertise, earn certifications, contribute to client projects, strengthen consulting and communication skills, and establish a foundation for long-term career growth.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as Java, SQL, Python, JavaScript, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, databases, APIs, cloud computing, and enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version control tools.
• Curiosity about enterprise technologies, Artificial Intelligence, cloud solutions, and digital transformation.

Qualifications

• Currently completing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
• Exposure to application development, data, or cloud-related projects through coursework, internships, research, or personal learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to Oracle technologies, enterprise applications, databases, or cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with ERP systems, business applications, integrations, or modern application architectures.
• Interest in Oracle solutions, Artificial Intelligence, and continuous learning.
