About the Role
The Financial Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role involves guiding patients and families through treatment costs, payment options, and financial planning related to fertility services.
Key Responsibilities
- Explain fee structures.
- Estimate out-of-pocket expenses.
- Assist with insurance verification and eligibility checks.
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams.
- Respond to patient queries in a clear and empathetic manner.
- Maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Support patients in understanding available financial programs.
- Help patients make informed decisions about their care.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, particularly related to fertility and reproductive treatments, or willingness to learn.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort working with digital tools, patient management systems, and standard office software.
Qualifications
- B.Sc/M.Sc Psychology.
- Strong financial counseling and finance skills to explain treatment costs, payment plans, and budgeting options.
- Experience with insurance verification and related processes within a healthcare or clinical setting.
- Proficient customer service skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, listen actively, and support patients with empathy.
- Relevant education in finance, accounting, business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field.
- Prior experience in healthcare finance, hospital billing, or fertility services is an advantage.
