About the Role

Activision is seeking talented and innovative students for summer 2027 internships. Interns will receive a meaningful project and an unparalleled experience, with tools and resources provided for learning. The work will directly impact the contributing team. All internships will be conducted in-person.

Game Economy Intern

We are looking for a Game Economy Intern to apply expertise towards understanding and improving the player experience. This role will use economic theory and empirical methods to help players thrive in Call of Duty, providing insights for game developers and product managers. The intern will have access to vast game data and will be proficient in using SQL and statistical software for analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Use economic theory and empirical methods to understand and improve player experience.
• Analyze game data to provide insights for game developers and product managers.
• Query data using SQL and perform analysis using Python/R.
• Apply quantitative methods (econometrics, probability, statistics) to find insights in data.
• Communicate the significance of findings.
• Utilize data visualization techniques.

Internship Program Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a master’s or PhD program graduating December 2027 – June 2028.
• Available for a 12-week internship starting in mid-May or mid-June.
• Currently residing in the US or open to relocating to the US.
• Exhibits learning agility, the ability to think differently, and grasp/apply new skills and concepts.
• Approaches problems in a clear, well-organized, and solutions-oriented manner.
• Works well with others and contributes to team tasks.
• Able to effectively communicate problems, solutions, needs, or priorities.
• Is engaged, seeks to learn, and is able to manage time effectively.
• Possesses a passion for significantly impacting game development.
• Must apply with a resume.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Deep knowledge of applying quantitative methods (including econometrics, probability, and statistics).
• Expertise in querying with SQL and performing analysis in Python/R.
• Strong critical thinking skills and understanding of gaming.
• Strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of data visualization techniques and standard processes.
