About the Role

Universal Music Group is seeking a Coordinator, Paid Media to join the Virgin Music Group Paid Media team. This role supports the full paid media campaign lifecycle and owns the department’s billing workflow, coordinating day-to-day team operations. The Coordinator will help deliver campaigns that build artist audiences, support streaming growth, and drive direct-to-consumer (D2C) engagement and sales. This position is ideal for someone who combines a passion for music with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and curiosity about digital advertising.

Key Responsibilities

  • Campaign Planning and Execution

  • Support the paid media team throughout the campaign lifecycle: briefing, audience research, media planning, setup, launch, optimization, and reporting.

  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to gather creative assets, copy, destination links, approvals, and other campaign materials; track deadlines and flag missing items.

  • Assist with campaign setup and media buying across platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Google/YouTube, Snapchat, X, and programmatic advertising partners.

  • Perform prelaunch quality checks on access, creative specifications, copy, links, targeting, budgets, flight dates, and tracking parameters.

  • Monitor campaign delivery, spend, and budget pacing; flag discrepancies or performance concerns and assist with optimizations under guidance.

  • Support audience research, segmentation, and activation across artist affinity, interest, engagement, retargeting, customer, and lookalike audiences.

  • Coordinate campaign changes, creative refreshes, and testing, maintaining accurate records of approvals and updates.

  • Reporting and Insights

  • Prepare accurate campaign updates and post-campaign reports using advertising platforms, internal tools, and third-party dashboards.

  • Track performance against campaign objectives and relevant metrics.

  • Translate campaign results into clear takeaways and recommendations.

  • Stay informed about advertising platform updates, music marketing trends, and emerging media partners; share relevant opportunities with the team.

  • Billing and Department Operations

  • Own the department’s billing workflow in partnership with Finance: raising POs, collecting invoices, maintaining billing records, reconciling spend, and tracking outstanding items.

  • Coordinate purchase orders, vendor setup, campaign coding, and payment follow-up.

  • Help reconcile planned budgets, platform spend, and vendor invoices; flag discrepancies for resolution.

  • Maintain campaign trackers (Airtable tool), reporting calendars, and organized campaign documentation.

  • Coordinate team meetings, agendas, notes, and action items, and follow up on deadlines and deliverables.

  • Support timely communication among internal teams, clients, and media partners regarding assets, campaign status, reporting, and billing.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong interest and curiosity to learn digital advertising, audience development, and music marketing, with a willingness to learn new platforms and tools.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through, particularly with campaign settings, budgets, invoices, and reporting.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize data and coordinate effectively.
  • Comfort working with numbers and spreadsheets, identifying discrepancies, and turning data into useful insights.
  • Foundational understanding of paid social advertising, audience targeting, campaign objectives, and performance measurement.
  • Familiarity with social platforms, creative formats, and audience behavior across music genres.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach to problem-solving, with sound judgment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, handle confidential information, and communicate professionally.
  • Passion for music and artist development.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Paid Media Platforms: Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, Google Ads, or other digital advertising platforms.
  • Productivity Tools: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Organization & Tracking: Airtable.
  • Creative Tools: Figma, Canva.
  • Familiarity with campaign reporting dashboards, web analytics, pixels, UTM tracking, and conversion measurement preferred.
  • Experience with invoice processing, budget tracking, purchase orders, or financial systems such as SAP/Uniport preferred.
  • Music industry, record label, distribution, or advertising agency experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with creative tools such as Photoshop is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience through internships, employment, coursework, or hands-on projects in digital advertising, marketing, media, or a related field.
  • College degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred.
