Podcast Marketing Intern, Unpaid

About the Role

Her Sports is seeking an intern to drive the growth of their podcast, "The Athlete’s Commute." This is an unpaid internship offering real ownership and direct collaboration with the cofounders. The role provides freedom to shape the podcast's growth strategy and implement new ideas.

Key Responsibilities

• Extract standout moments from finished episodes and edit them into short-form clips for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
• Write titles, descriptions, and captions for episodes and clips.
• Manage the release calendar and publish episodes on YouTube and Spotify bi-weekly.
• Schedule and post podcast content across social platforms.
• Handle guest logistics, including outreach, scheduling, pre-shoot communication, and follow-up.
• Track performance, test new ideas, and build the strategy to grow the audience.
• Potentially support sponsor marketing by researching prospective partners and assisting with pitch materials.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Experience editing short-form video using tools like CapCut, Premiere Pro, or similar.
• A strong understanding of content performance on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
• Organized and reliable with the ability to manage deadlines independently.
• Clear, professional communication skills, essential for direct contact with athletes and teams.
• Genuine interest in women's sports.
• Candidates in the San Diego area are a plus, but not required.

Qualifications

• Bonus: Experience with podcast marketing, sports media, or sponsorship sales.
