About the Role
SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an Intern to join the Rising Pioneer Program as part of our Product Development and Commercial teams, specifically on the Actuarial team. This role offers opportunities to predict and model risk in challenging markets, working in multiple actuarial disciplines, including pricing and product.
Key Responsibilities
- Learn and use actuarial techniques in developing pricing plans.
- Assist in providing technical and analytical assessments of complex business issues related to the management of current and future insurance product development.
- Learn and network with employees, leaders, and other interns.
- Support modeling, research, and analysis on ad-hoc projects.
- Participate in collaborative teamwork and/or individual Capstone projects.
- Recommend solutions to industry issues.
- Fulfill tasks set by team leaders.
- Receive coaching, mentoring, and feedback from professionals.
- Potential to earn college credit.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Undergraduate education in Actuarial Science or a STEM-related field.
- Graduation date in 2028.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and reasoning skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong Communication skills (technical and non-technical).
- Ability to multitask and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
Highly Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Passage of one or more actuarial exam(s).
- Strong technical skills.
- Familiarity with R.
- Knowledge of modeling packages, programming languages, and spreadsheet/database software.
