About the Role
Affirm's Search team is investing in improving search to create a user-preferred experience for shopping discovery and a platform merchants want to invest in, as the company builds a new Ads business and evolves Marketplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on tasks contributing to team projects and goals, with team support.
- Collaborate proactively with team and stakeholders, facilitating visibility and dialogue on risks and trade-offs.
- Balance speed and quality to achieve business goals while protecting systems from downtime.

Requirements & Tech Stack
- Previous work or internship experience with Javascript/Typescript.
- Previous work or internship experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience using Python or Kotlin.
- Mastered taking a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components.
- Executed solutions by writing clear, easily understood, well-tested, and extensible code.
- Comfortable navigating a large codebase, debugging others' code, and providing feedback through code reviews.
- Demonstrated ownership of growth by proactively seeking feedback from team, manager, and stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Either equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Qualifications
- Experience with Javascript/Typescript.
- Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience using Python or Kotlin.
- Ability to translate problems into robust, well-tested, and extensible code.
- Proficient in navigating large codebases and performing code reviews.
- Proactive approach to personal and professional growth.
