Job Summary

Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Substation 2D & 3D Drafter / Designer to join the engineering design team. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in preparing 2D and 3D drawings for substation projects, including civil, architectural, structural, and general arrangement drawings. Requires strong hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and SketchUp, and the ability to coordinate effectively with engineers and other design teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and modify 2D and 3D drawings for substation projects.
• Prepare civil, architectural, structural, and general layout drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop and update engineering drawings using MicroStation.
• Prepare 3D models and layouts using SketchUp.
• Prepare substation layouts, building plans, sections, elevations, and detailed drawings.
• Prepare equipment layouts, building layouts, and related project drawings.
• Coordinate drawings with engineering requirements, project specifications, and company standards.
• Review drawings and incorporate engineering comments, corrections, and revisions.
• Maintain proper drawing standards, including layers, dimensions, annotations, references, scales, and drawing formats.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, structural, mechanical, and other engineering teams to resolve drawing-related issues.
• Ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and submitted within the required project schedule.
• Prepare drawings for client submission, approval, and construction purposes.
• Maintain proper records of drawing revisions, project files, and related documentation.
• Follow project-specific drafting standards and ensure consistency across all project drawings.
• Support engineers and project teams with drawing preparation and technical documentation.
• Identify drawing discrepancies and coordinate with the relevant engineering team for necessary corrections.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• AutoCAD: Strong hands-on experience in 2D drafting and detailing. Ability to prepare and modify civil, architectural, and engineering drawings. Good understanding of layers, blocks, dimensions, annotations, references, and drawing standards.
• MicroStation: Practical experience in preparing and modifying engineering drawings. Ability to work with project drawings and maintain proper drafting standards.
• SketchUp: Experience in creating 3D models and layouts. Ability to develop clear and accurate 3D representations of project requirements.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in preparing 2D and 3D drawings for substation projects.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with engineers and other design teams.
• Must be able to prepare accurate drawings according to project requirements, engineering standards, and schedules.
