Founder’s Office Associate
disblur
About the Role
We are looking for a curious, organised person who enjoys understanding ideas, connecting with people, and figuring things out. You will work closely with our founder across the everyday work of building Disblur. Research, communication, and coordination will be your starting points. As projects develop, you may also support production, events, applications, outreach, and other activities. An important part of the role is understanding the founder’s thinking and communicating it clearly to others. You will make calls, ask questions, explain ideas, follow up, and bring back feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and explore: Investigate questions, funding opportunities, government grants, organisations, and potential collaborators. Check sources and turn findings into clear, useful notes.
- Communicate with people: Make calls, write emails, arrange conversations, and follow up. Help explain our ideas accurately and understand what others need from us.
- Support planning: Turn discussions into practical steps, organise tasks, and keep track of decisions and deadlines.
- Keep the team connected: Gather updates, document next steps, and coordinate with teammates and collaborators so work moves forward.
- Help with production and events: Support interviews, documentary shoots, workshops, and other activities through preparation, arrangements, and on-the-ground assistance.
- Prepare documents: Help with meeting notes, presentations, project briefs, and initial drafts of proposals or applications for review.
- Support everyday organisation: Maintain contact lists, shared documents, schedules, and basic expense records.
- Help share our work: Gather material and assist with occasional social media updates, simple drafts, and scheduling approved posts.

- Comfortable approaching people and willing to take responsibility for the practical details that help work happen.
- Take initiative and follow through on agreed tasks.
- Bring curiosity about people, creative work, education, and new possibilities.
- Early-career applicants and recent graduates are welcome.
- Relevant experience can come from college activities, volunteering, independent projects, or employment.
- Experience in research, branding, marketing, content production, events, or coordination would be useful.
- A particular degree or film industry background isn’t essential. We’re interested in how you think, communicate, and take responsibility.
