About the Role

Newport News Shipbuilding offers internships for students to gain experience in technical or administrative positions. This role provides the opportunity to gain experience in your field of study and an understanding of our business. This opportunity may lead to future full-time employment, but it is not guaranteed.

Key Responsibilities

• Work 40 hours a week for 10 consecutive weeks during the summer months.
• Engage in a variety of assignments related to your major.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• US Citizenship Required
• Must be enrolled in a 4-year college/university (or 2+2 program) or master's degree programs for Fall 2027.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5 or greater.
• Unofficial transcripts are required when applying. Failure to upload transcripts at the time of application will result in automatic disqualification.
• Note: Some engineering, technical, and waterfront positions may require physical access to various work sites, including those aboard ships, and may involve the use of ladders, kneeling, stooping, and standing.

Qualifications

• Majoring in Business, Accounting, or Finance for Bachelor or Master’s Degree Programs.

Salary Range

$39,000.00 to $60,000.00 per year.

The anticipated salary range represents the estimated base pay for this role. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
