Forward Deployed Software Engineer
Palantir
The Role
Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) understand customer pain points and design end-to-end solutions. They solicit feedback from customers and colleagues, iterating on products. FDSEs deploy technical solutions to solve complex problems, from high-level system design and prototyping to application development and data integration, leveraging Palantir products, open-source technologies, and custom builds to drive impact.
FDSEs work with global customers, gaining insight into important industries and institutions. They help customers detect insider trading, improve disaster relief, and fight healthcare fraud, adapting to diverse environments, data, and user populations to achieve technical outcomes.
The role fosters growth in problem-solving, understanding costs/consequences, learning new technologies, and developing them. FDSEs work autonomously and make independent decisions within a supportive community.
