Policy Research Intern

About the Role

Anvikshiki Research is seeking Policy Research Interns interested in public policy, governance, and policy implementation in India. The role involves researching public policies, examining government programmes, reviewing official documents and academic literature, and developing structured research outputs. Interns will contribute to ongoing research initiatives focused on understanding how policies evolve, how institutions shape implementation, and what can be learned from policy changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Research Indian public policies, government schemes, and institutional frameworks.
• Review government reports, policy documents, academic papers, and official data.
• Prepare policy briefs, research notes, and structured case studies.
• Examine policy implementation challenges, programme restructuring, and discontinued interventions.
• Identify relevant evidence, research gaps, and questions for further investigation.
• Support the preparation of articles, reports, and other research publications.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Sociology, Law, Development Studies, or a related discipline.
• Strong reading, analytical, and written communication skills.
• Ability to locate, assess, and accurately cite credible sources.
• Attention to detail and willingness to engage with complex policy questions.
• Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and online research tools is desirable.
