About the Role
Blue Matter Consulting is a rapidly growing management consultancy focused on the biopharmaceutical industry. We partner with life sciences companies to help commercialize therapies that extend and improve human life — by driving clarity and confidence in data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
As an Analytics Associate at Blue Matter, you will work alongside consultants to tackle critical commercial challenges in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. You will span the full analytics value chain — from raw data to boardroom-ready insights.
- Learn deeply and question continuously:
- Research therapy areas, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics.
- Deep-dive into data anomalies to understand the reason behind the ripple.
- Actively seek out new analytical tools, AI-driven methodologies, and approaches.
- Let the data lead:
- Analyze complex, multi-source datasets and extract insights grounded in evidence.
- Present findings that challenge the client's internal hypothesis when the data calls for it.
- Own your mistakes and collaborate to fix them.
- Go beyond the ask:
- Translate analytical outputs into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- Build visually compelling, insight-driven deliverables (dashboards, models, slides).
- Understand the 'Why' behind each project request to ensure every analysis connects to a real business need.
- Be a great teammate:
- Collaborate closely with onshore and offshore team members.
- Contribute actively in internal reviews and invite feedback.
- Support teammates when deadlines are tight.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Solid foundation in at least one analytical tool: SQL, Python, R, Excel, or Alteryx.
- Strong analytical thinking — you naturally ask 'why' and 'so what?' when you see data.
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly, both in writing and visually (e.g., PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI or similar).
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across global, cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field (internships and academic projects count).
- Exposure to the US pharmaceutical or life sciences market.
- Knowledge of visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI.
- BE/BTech/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- MTech/MS (Statistics or Data Science) is a plus.
