Junior Accountant

About the Role

We are looking for Junior Accountants with strong practical knowledge of billing and day-to-day business accounting to join our Product Support team. This is not a traditional accounting/back-office role. You will be trained extensively on our healthcare billing and business-management software and will become a Product Subject Matter Expert (SME) responsible for demonstrating the software to customers, helping them understand workflows, and resolving functional product queries. Our customers include retail pharmacies, pharma distributors, clinics, diagnostic centres, and hospitals. If you understand accounting and billing well and enjoy explaining things to people, this role offers an opportunity to move from conventional accounting into the software/SaaS industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Become an expert in Tapza's billing, inventory, accounting, GST, and reporting workflows.
• Conduct product demonstrations for prospective customers.
• Train new customers and their staff on how to use the software.
• Support customers with functional queries related to billing, purchases, sales, stock, accounts, margins, GST, reports, and reconciliation.
• Understand customer issues and determine whether they are usage-related, accounting-related, or product/technical issues.
• Coordinate with the technology team for bugs or technical issues and follow them through to resolution.
• Assist customers during onboarding and software adoption.
• Explain reports and calculations clearly to customers.
• Collect customer feedback and communicate product requirements to the internal product and technology teams.
• Maintain professional and responsive communication with customers.

Accounting Knowledge Required

You should have a practical understanding of:

• Sales and purchase entries
• Purchase and sales invoices
• Debit notes and credit notes
• Customer and supplier ledgers
• Receivables and payables
• Cash and bank transactions
• Gross profit and margin calculations
• Discounts and taxes
• GST basics
• Stock and inventory accounting
• Expense entries
• Reconciliation
• Financial and business reports

Requirements & Tech Stack

• B.Com / M.Com / relevant accounting qualification.
• 1–3 years of practical accounting or billing experience.
• Working knowledge of Tally, Marg, Zoho Books, Busy, or similar accounting/billing software is highly preferred.
• Comfortable understanding calculations, ledgers, reports, and business transactions.
• Good verbal communication skills in Telugu and English.
• Comfortable speaking with customers and explaining concepts patiently.
• Strong problem-solving and learning ability.
• Basic proficiency with Excel and computers.
• Willingness to learn software deeply and become a product expert.

Good to Have

• Experience working in a pharmacy, pharma distributor, retail business, CA office, or trading company.
• Experience using Marg ERP or similar billing software.
• Understanding of pharmacy billing or inventory workflows.
• Previous customer-facing experience.

Note: This role is ideal for accountants who want to move into the technology/SaaS industry while using their accounting knowledge. You will not spend your day maintaining our company's books. Your accounting expertise will instead be used to understand the product, demonstrate it, train customers, and solve real customer problems.
