About Hyperliquid Policy Center
Hyperliquid Policy Center (“HPC”) is an independent research and advocacy organization dedicated to advancing a clear, regulated path for Americans to access onchain markets. HPC actively engages with lawmakers and regulators, produces substantive policy research, and champions a U.S. regulatory home for onchain markets and financial infrastructure.
About the Role
HPC is hiring two Legal Interns for Summer 2027. This role will contribute to rigorous legal analysis, help develop tailored legislative and regulatory proposals, and participate in advocacy efforts that advance regulatory frameworks for the next generation of blockchain-based financial markets. Interns will make meaningful, substantive contributions to HPC’s work product and develop valuable legislative and regulatory advocacy experience.
As a Legal Intern, you will
- Report to HPC’s Senior Counsel and collaborate with HPC staff across the organization.
- Assist in developing and refining legal and policy positions related to onchain finance, derivatives market structure, and related legislative and regulatory matters.
- Support long-term legal projects and policy initiatives by conducting research, preparing drafts, and helping drive workstreams forward under the supervision of HPC's legal and policy teams.
- Conduct legal research and contribute to the drafting of memoranda, comment letters, briefing materials, policy papers, and regulatory proposals.
- Help prepare materials for engagement with congressional staff, federal agency officials, and stakeholders in the crypto and traditional finance industries.
- Monitor and track relevant legislation, agency rulemakings, enforcement actions, and litigation involving securities, derivatives, and onchain finance.
- Help identify emerging legal and regulatory risks and opportunities relevant to onchain finance and blockchain-based financial infrastructure.
- Coordinate with policy, government relations, and communications staff to ensure research and deliverables align with broader strategic objectives and timelines.
Interns will work 40 hours per week for 8 weeks between June and August. Start and end dates are flexible.
Interns will work out of our Washington, D.C. office with remote work as appropriate.
Interns may choose either to receive course credit through a law school internship or externship program or to receive a stipend of up to $10,000.
Qualifications
To qualify, you must:
- Be a rising 2L or 3L student at an ABA-accredited US law school.

- Have a strong, demonstrated interest in digital assets, blockchain technology, or onchain finance.
- Have excellent critical thinking, legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
- Have outstanding attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Be a team player who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, creative environment.
- Be a self-motivated, open-minded, respectful professional with a sense of curiosity.
We also prefer if you have:
- The desire to pursue a career related to the digital asset industry after graduation.
- Demonstrated interest or familiarity with U.S. financial regulations, particularly the federal securities, commodities, and anti-money laundering laws.
