Graduate Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

This role is an integral part of the Global Excellence Centre (GEC), Arcadis’ centralized and fully integrated project delivery group. The MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) Discipline within the GECs comprises cross-functional teams contributing to innovative MEPF solutions that optimize energy efficiency, sustainability, and occupant comfort.

Key Responsibilities

• Conducts engineering design of ventilation, heating, and cooling installations under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Conducts engineering design of water distribution (cold, hot, industrial, etc.), wastewater distribution, and rainwater distribution under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Conducts engineering design of general lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution (up to 1kV), fire signaling systems, burglary, and CCTV systems under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Designs, calculates, sketches, performs 3D modeling, creates diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Builds proficiency in REVIT and other software used in the design process.
• Performs tasks within the agreed-upon budget and schedule.
• Prepares reports and presentations as directed by senior engineers.
• Follows company standards and procedures, including design and checking.
• Prepares all necessary drawings for the specific phase of projects (report, 2D plans, schematics, sections).

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in HVAC engineering.
• Good knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and calculation software specific to each discipline.
• Strong English language skills.
• Eager to learn new capabilities and skills.
• Good understanding of norms and standards related to HVAC.
• Candidate must demonstrate problem-solving skills, creativity, proactivity, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in building services.

Nice to Have

• Master’s degree in building services.
• Basic knowledge of Revit MEP.
• Basic knowledge of electrical specialized software (e.g., Revit, EPLAN, Amtech, Intelec).
• Basic knowledge of mechanical (building services) specialized software (e.g., Revit, HAP, Design Builder).
• Participation in internships for AEC companies.
• Candidate to show out-of-the-box thinking to identify opportunities for automation or innovation.
