Sourcing & Procurement Intern

About the Role

PRAD Initiatives is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support sourcing and procurement operations. This role offers practical exposure to the complete sourcing and procurement process, from identifying potential suppliers to coordinating purchases and tracking deliveries. The candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and research potential suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and vendors based on product specifications, quality, pricing, and availability.
• Conduct market research to identify suitable suppliers, new sourcing opportunities, alternative products, and competitive pricing.
• Identify alternative suppliers and equivalent products to improve cost efficiency, availability, and procurement flexibility.
• Assist in evaluating and shortlisting suppliers based on capabilities, product offerings, pricing, reliability, and delivery commitments.
• Request, collect, and compare quotations to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Assist in purchase order preparation, order tracking, and procurement documentation.
• Coordinate with internal teams to understand purchasing requirements and material specifications.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, delivery schedules, and order status.
• Maintain vendor databases, purchase records, and procurement reports.
• Support vendor evaluation, price negotiations, and cost-comparison activities.
• Ensure procurement records and documentation are accurate and up to date.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Basic knowledge of procurement processes and purchasing practices
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Good communication, coordination, negotiation, and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
• Ability to maintain accurate records and handle multiple tasks
• Willingness to learn, take ownership, and work collaboratively with the team

Preferred / Added Advantages

• Prior experience in procurement, purchasing, vendor management, or a related role
• Experience using Zoho, CRM platforms, ERP systems, or procurement management tools
• Basic understanding of inventory management and operations
• Prior internship, academic project, or practical exposure to procurement
