Canada TAX Associate/ Senior Associate

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional with experience in Direct Tax, Accounting, and Auditing to support Canadian tax compliance and advisory engagements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of taxation principles, financial statements, and audit procedures, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Canadian Corporate Tax Returns (T2) and related tax schedules.
• Analyze financial statements and supporting documents for tax compliance.
• Perform tax provisions, tax reconciliations, and identify tax-saving opportunities.
• Assist in tax research and interpretation of Canadian tax legislation.
• Work closely with audit and accounting teams to gather financial information required for tax filings.
• Review general ledger accounts, trial balances, and year-end financial statements.
• Support tax audits, notices, and queries from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
• Ensure compliance with tax deadlines and internal quality standards.
• Prepare work papers, tax calculations, and documentation for review.
• Participate in client discussions and provide tax-related support as needed.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Direct Tax, Accounting, and/or Auditing experience.
• Experience in preparing corporate tax returns and reviewing financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and audit procedures.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
• CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Experience working on Canadian Tax engagements.
• Exposure to tax software such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, CCH, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of GST/HST, corporate tax provisions, and tax compliance processes.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
