CAD detailer

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role. The CAD Detailer will prepare detailed shop drawings and layout plans for pre-engineered steel buildings, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and adherence to company standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret design and structural engineering drawings.
• Create and update 2D/3D CAD models.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to resolve design issues.
• Check and revise drawings based on feedback.
• Maintain drawing records and documentation.
• Ensure all detailing work complies with relevant codes, quality guidelines, and timelines.
• Suggest design or detailing optimizations that enhance efficiency and manufacturability.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar).
• Ability to produce precise 2D/3D structural and fabrication drawings.
• Knowledge of pre-engineered steel buildings, structural steel detailing.
• Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards, including IS/AISC/MBMA Codes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to translate drawings into clear, manufacturable shop details.
• Experience in industrial or commercial building projects, preferably in PEB or structural steel, is highly beneficial.
• Ability to meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and accuracy in dimensioning and documentation.
• Strong organizational skills for managing multiple drawing packages.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Diploma or degree in Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Specialized training in CAD/steel detailing is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Chennai, Hyderabad, and Pune.
