About the Role

Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) India Limited is seeking Graduate Executive Trainees (GETs) based on GATE 2025 scores. This recruitment drive offers 143 positions across Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Mining fields, for deployment in thermal power plants, mines, renewable energy, and support areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake one year of training as a Graduate Executive Trainee in Grade E-2.
• Perform duties related to the assigned discipline at NLC project sites.

Fee Structure

• UR, EWS, OBC (NCL): Rs. 854/- (Rs. 500/- application fee + Rs. 354/- processing fee)
• SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen: Rs. 354/- (processing fee only)
• Payment Mode: Online through SBI E-Collect
• Refund: Not refundable.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• GATE 2025 score in the relevant paper code.
• GATE 2025 marks are valid only for this recruitment.
• Application must be made for a single area (discipline).

Eligibility Requirements

• Mechanical (GATE ME): Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Mechanical and Production Engineering.
• Electrical (GATE EE): Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics, or Power Engineering.
• Civil (GATE CE): Bachelor's degree in Civil or Civil and Structural Engineering.
• Mining (GATE MN): Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum Marks:
• 60% aggregate for UR, EWS, and OBC (NCL).
• 50% aggregate for SC and ST.
• No rounding off of percentage is allowed.
• Upper Age Limit (as on November 1, 2026):
• UR and EWS: 30 years
• OBC (NCL): 33 years
• SC and ST: 35 years
• Maximum Age After Relaxation: 58 years in all cases.
• Age Concessions:
• SC and ST: 5 years
• OBC (NCL): 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years (13 years for OBC, 15 years for SC/ST)
• Ex-Servicemen: As per Government of India guidelines.
• Unreserved Posts: No relaxation applies when applying against UR seats.

Training Stipend and Post Training Pay

• Training Period: One year in Grade E-2.
• Basic Pay During Training: Rs. 50,000/- within the scale of Rs. 50,000/- to Rs. 1,60,000/-.
• Allowances: Dearness allowance and common allowance of 35% of basic pay.
• Approximate CTC: Rs. 14.50 lakh per annum during training.
• After Training: Absorption in Grade E-3 with a basic pay of Rs. 60,000/- within the scale of Rs. 60,000/- to Rs. 1,80,000/-.

Selection Process

• Selection is based on GATE 2025 scores and a Personal Interview.
• Merit Calculation: 80 marks for GATE 2025 score + 20 marks for personal interview = 100 total marks.
• Shortlisting for the interview is based on GATE marks (1:6 or 1:10 ratio as per requirement).
• Shortlisting is conducted separately for each area; candidates are not considered for multiple areas.
• Document Verification will be conducted before the interview.
• In case of a tie in total marks, age and then alphabetical order by first name will be used.
• Selection is subject to fulfilling norms, passing the pre-employment medical examination, and receiving an offer of appointment.

Bond, Posting, and Other Provisions

• Service Bond: Candidates must sign a Service Bond of Rs. 3,00,000/- and serve NLCIL for at least three years after training.
• Transfer Restriction: Transfer requests will not be considered for the first three years after enrollment.
• Travel Allowance: Interviewees are entitled to reimbursement for second-class sleeper/bus fare upon producing travel tickets.
• PwBD Eligibility: No category for mining has been identified. Candidates for other courses should refer to Annexure-I of the notification.

• Jurisdiction: Courts at Chennai will have exclusive jurisdiction over recruitment-related issues.

• Identity and Age Proof: Aadhaar Card, Class 10 certificate.
• Educational Certificates: Class 10, 12, Diploma, and Engineering Degree certificates.
• Academic Marksheets: All semester-wise or year-wise marksheets.
• GATE 2025 Scorecard: For the relevant paper (ME, EE, CE, or MN).
• Category Certificates: SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS certificates, if applicable.
• PwBD / Ex-Servicemen Proof: Disability or Ex-Servicemen certificate, if applicable.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC): From the current Government or PSU employer.
• Photograph and Signature: Recent photograph and scanned signature (JPEG format, up to 50 KB each).
