Intern to Founding Frontend Engineer
Navi Operations
About the Role
NAVI is an end-to-end production planning system that connects to a factory's ERP, learns its operations, and uses AI agents with mathematical optimization to plan materials and schedule production. This role is for graduating seniors passionate about interfaces, working part-time through their final year with a direct conversion to a full-time Software Engineer offer in May. The part-time work serves as the evaluation, with no separate re-interview process. This is a small, in-person team in NYC focused on hard problems, starting early.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the frontend end to end, from the data model to the pixels a planner uses daily.
- Build dense, fast interfaces for real scheduling data, including capacity and due-date views, scenario trees, and constraint views that clarify tradeoffs.
- Focus on details that prevent mistakes, such as latency, clarity under pressure, and maintaining a sane state for all edge cases and messy ERP data.
- Ship real production code from week one.
- Have a significant say in product development and user experience, working directly with the team.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Graduating in May 2027, available full-time immediately after.
- Genuine craft for UI and UX.
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript fundamentals, with informed opinions on frontend architecture.
- Creative and proactive problem-solver.
- Low ego, open to changing opinions based on evidence.
- Judgment regarding AI: understanding when to leverage models versus performing tasks manually.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and messy, real-world factory data.
Nice to Have
- Data visualization skills: canvas, SVG, D3, or WebGL.
- A portfolio or design background demonstrating taste.
- Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, ERP, or ops.
Compensation & Offer
- Part-time internship: $1,500 to $2,500 per month, depending on hours committed.
- Full-time offer in May: $70,000 to $100,000 base salary plus competitive equity.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship.
