About the Role
The Nuclear and Radiochemistry Group is seeking a candidate interested in radiation detection and measurement research. The candidate will work on projects related to nuclear forensics, medical isotope production, and treaty verification and monitoring. Collaboration opportunities exist with colleagues in the Chemistry and Physics Divisions. The group specializes in the radioanalytical chemistry and radiometric measurement of low-level radionuclides.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with scientists in the Nuclear and Radiochemistry Group on projects.
- Collaborate with colleagues in Chemistry and Physics Divisions.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Undergraduate degree in science or engineering, completed within the last two years.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in science or engineering.
- Good oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Record of fostering a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of basic principles of nuclear decay and spectroscopy.
- Interests in nuclear nonproliferation, design of radiation detection systems, or nuclear reactor design.
- Experience working with computers, and basic programming.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting.
Work Location
- Onsite in Los Alamos, NM.
