Job Title: Housekeeper (Custodian)
Location: Plainview, NY
Schedule
- Full-Time: Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. or 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
- Part-Time: Considered
Compensation: $18–$25/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and common spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces.
- Remove trash and dispose of waste according to hospital protocols.
- Clean and restock restrooms and staff areas.
- Restock supplies throughout the hospital.
- Assist with laundry and linen management.
- Follow hospital sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures.
- Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Assist with snow removal and facility-related emergencies.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Professional, respectful, and team-oriented attitude.
- Comfortable working in an animal hospital environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, stretching, and moving throughout the shift.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions when necessary.
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills.
