About martai
martai is a small product studio in India. We build Android apps that help people take back control of their phones.
About the Role
- Build features in our Android apps (Kotlin and Jetpack Compose) and our Go backend.
- Take each feature from the first prompt to a release on Google Play.
- Work directly with the founding team.
- Your work ships to real people within days.
- You will plan changes, review every diff, test on a real phone, and own what ships.
- Put AI inside the products, like classifiers, smarter reminders, and new study tools built on the Claude API and other models.
- Automate work around shipping, including store listings in 40+ languages, release checks, analytics, and internal tools.
- Track down bugs on real devices and fix them at the cause.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Experience building and shipping real projects with Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar tools.
- Ability to work with an AI agent: write clear briefs, break work into steps, read AI-generated code, and identify errors.
- Solid basics in at least one of: Kotlin/Android, Go, TypeScript/React, or Python.
- Ability to read code you didn't write.
- Comfort with Git, the terminal, and debugging.
Bonus
- Android or Jetpack Compose
- The Claude API
- MCP servers or agent workflows
- An app of your own on Google Play
A CS degree is not required; what you've built matters more.
