Backend Developer Intern

About the Role

Full-Time Internship (In-Office) at Klarixa Private Limited (a subsidiary of Pharma Tek Solutions, USA) in Bangalore.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining backend services using Python.
• Write clean, readable, and well-documented code.
• Help build and integrate RESTful APIs.
• Work with PostgreSQL to write queries and support database-related tasks.
• Learn and contribute to backend development using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks.
• Assist in testing, debugging, and improving backend performance and code quality.
• Work with Docker and learn the basics of containerized application deployment.
• Gain exposure to AWS services and cloud infrastructure.
• Support CI/CD processes and learn how backend services are deployed and monitored.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and the product team to build and improve features.
• Explore AI/LLM technologies and contribute to AI-powered backend features where relevant.
• Take ownership of assigned tasks, seek feedback, and contribute to real-world product development.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Minimum 6 months of relevant internship experience in backend development.
• Strong Python programming fundamentals and hands-on experience building backend applications.
• Understanding of REST APIs, SQL, databases, and basic backend architecture.
• Practical experience through internships.
• Basic understanding of data structures, algorithms, databases, and problem-solving.
• Willingness to learn FastAPI or other Python backend frameworks.
• Ability to debug issues, write basic tests, and collaborate with engineers.
• Interest in AI/LLM technologies is an advantage.

Qualifications

• Preferred Qualification: Bachelor's or master's degree from a reputed engineering institute such as IITs, NITs, or BITS Pilani.
• OR prior experience at a reputed product company, high-growth startup, or leading technology organization.
• Product/SaaS company experience is preferred, particularly candidates who have completed internships or projects involving real-world backend applications at product-led companies, SaaS companies, or high-growth startups.

Big Pluses

• Prior experience at a product-led startup or high-growth SaaS company.
• Daily user of Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable AI dev tools.
• Exposure to regulated industries (pharma, healthcare, fintech) or workflow-heavy enterprise SaaS.
• Open-source contributions or side projects that show range.
