About Purple Business

Purple Business is an emerging AI-powered business growth platform designed to help small businesses grow through intelligent marketing, advertising, customer insights, AI-powered content creation, and business automation.

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious, analytical, financially curious, and exceptionally proactive Founder's Office – Fundraising & Investor Relations Intern to work closely with our founders on fundraising strategy, investor research, pitch decks, financial storytelling, and capital acquisition opportunities. You will help identify and pursue funding opportunities across angel investors, venture capital firms, family offices, government grants, crowdfunding platforms, incubators, accelerators, and startup funding programs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fundraising Strategy & Capital Planning

  • Work directly with the founders to understand Purple Business's business model, vision, market opportunity, growth strategy, and financial requirements.
  • Research and recommend appropriate fundraising strategies based on the company's current stage, traction, and funding requirements.
  • Help identify suitable sources of capital, including equity financing, grants, startup programs, and other relevant funding opportunities.
  • Develop fundraising roadmaps with potential funding sources, application deadlines, outreach priorities, and milestones.
  • Research typical funding structures, investment terms, valuations, dilution, and other relevant startup financing concepts.
  • Analyze how different funding scenarios could support product development, hiring, customer acquisition, and business expansion.
  • Help the founders determine what business milestones, traction metrics, and financial evidence are needed to strengthen fundraising readiness.

2. Investor Research & Funding Opportunity Discovery

  • Research and identify relevant angel investors, venture capital firms, family offices, angel networks, and early-stage investment funds.
  • Build a structured database of investors who have demonstrated interest in AI, SaaS, marketing technology, SMB solutions, business automation, and related sectors.
  • Research individual investors' investment theses, portfolio companies, preferred funding stages, typical investment sizes, and geographic preferences.
  • Identify relevant government grants, startup funding schemes, innovation programs, and non-dilutive funding opportunities.
  • Research startup incubators, accelerators, university entrepreneurship programs, and corporate innovation initiatives.
  • Explore appropriate crowdfunding opportunities, including equity-based and community-supported models.
  • Monitor upcoming application windows, pitch competitions, startup challenges, and relevant funding announcements.
  • Evaluate and prioritize opportunities based on eligibility, strategic relevance, potential funding, timelines, and likelihood of success.
  • Maintain updated investor databases, funding trackers, and opportunity pipelines.

3. Pitch Deck Creation & Investor Presentations

  • Collaborate with the founders and design team to create compelling, professional, and persuasive investor pitch decks.
  • Develop presentations explaining Purple Business's vision, problem statement, solution, product capabilities, business model, market opportunity, competitive landscape, go-to-market strategy, and funding requirements.
  • Research and prepare supporting data for market sizing, including TAM, SAM, and SOM estimates with clearly documented assumptions.
  • Create visually understandable charts, business metrics, revenue projections, financial models, and investment-related presentations.
  • Develop different versions of the pitch deck for angel investors, venture capital firms, family offices, accelerators, and grant committees.
  • Prepare concise investor teasers, one-page company summaries, executive briefs, and pitch scripts.
  • Continuously improve presentations based on founder feedback, investor questions, and fundraising outcomes.
  • Ensure all claims, projections, metrics, and statements are accurate, supportable, and appropriately presented.

4. Fundraising Narrative & Business Storytelling

  • Work with the founders to develop a powerful and consistent investment narrative around Purple Business.
  • Clearly communicate why small businesses need better tools for customer acquisition, marketing, advertising, and business growth.
  • Explain why advances in AI create an opportunity to fundamentally improve how small businesses operate and grow.
  • Develop convincing narratives around market size, customer problems, product differentiation, business potential, and long-term vision.
  • Articulate: Why this problem? Why now? Why Purple Business? Why this team?
  • Research successful startup fundraising narratives and understand how compelling businesses communicate their investment theses.
  • Translate technical AI capabilities into understandable business benefits and investment opportunities.
  • Adapt storytelling for different audiences while keeping the company's underlying business facts consistent.
  • Help the founders develop clear answers to challenging investor questions and objections.

Key Expected Deliverables

  • Investor Database: A structured and regularly updated database of relevant angel investors, VC firms, family offices, and investment networks.
  • Funding Opportunity Tracker: A comprehensive list of grants, incubators, accelerators, funding programs, and their application requirements.

  • Investor Data Room: Organized fundraising documents, approved company information, financial records, and supporting evidence.
  • Weekly Fundraising Updates: Progress reports highlighting upcoming deadlines, investor responses, opportunities, challenges, and recommended next steps.
